Guidelines for Submitting Events

Events eligible for calendar

The Oil 150 considers an eligible "event" to be: a public show or exhibit, festival, seminar, symposium, lecture, convention, theatrical or musical performance, sporting event, or other form of entertainment, learning, or recreation which may be of interest to a large number of people. "Events" must have finite dates and be open to the public.

Oil 150 "Events" must include one of the following:

• Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Drake Well and the birth of the petroleum industry
• Have an oil or natural gas theme or component
• Be related to the history of oil or natural gas
• Include an oil heritage component or element
• Promote understanding and discussion of oil & natural gas
• Promote visitation to the Oil Region National Heritage Area or oil heritage-related sites across the country

How the submission process works

After the submission form is completed it is sent to a staff member for determination of eligibility, as listed above. Once the details are approved, the Calendar Editor posts the listing to the online calendar at www.oil150.com.

The Oil 150 reserves the right to edit or refuse publication of submitted events. Listings will typically post in 3 business days. To alter or rescind a previously submitted event please send email to info@oil150.com.

Events on the Oil150 calendar may also be included by Oil 150 in the e-mails, newsletters, and other promotional media where opportunity is presented to Oil 150; submissions are not guaranteed inclusion in any of these promotional activities.

Submission Deadlines

Events are accepted on a continuous basis. Events must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.

Submission Form

Only one Event should be submitted on the submission form. Please do NOT combine different events in a single submission--submit each separately. DO NOT USE ALL CAPS!

Bold Labels denote required fields. Omitting required information may result in delay or exclusion of events listings.
